With the searchit Text Recognition (OCR) plugin, searchit automatically recognizes text in scans and in images of text and makes it searchable.

Specifically, the OCR plugin includes the following functions:

  • Text recognition: recognition of text in scans or images
  • Text selection: selectable text is placed over the scans and positioned precisely
  • Scalability: the compute-intensive text recognition can be scaled across computer clusters
